At the 67th Creative Arts Emmy Awards, Foo Fighters won twice for their documentary series Sonic Highways. The Emmy’s celebrate the best in the US television industry.
The award ceremony took place on Saturday night (September 12th) at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. Foo Fighters’ documentary won two awards at the event for ‘Outstanding Sound Mixing For Nonfiction Programming (Single Or Multi-Camera)’ and ‘Outstanding Sound Editing For Nonfiction Programming (Single Or Multi-Camera).
It was also nominated for a further two categories – ‘Oustanding Informational Series or Special’ and ‘Outstanding Directing for Nonfiction Programming’. Foo Fighters beat out Cobain documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck to win two Emmys.
Their series followed Dave Grohl and his band as they recorded their eighth studio album across eight different cities in America. After the success of the first series, Grohl recently confirmed that there would be a second season.
Dave Grohl said “The great thing about the idea, the concept of the project, is that it can be anywhere because every city has some sort of musical history, but I don’t know. Of all places in the world England and the UK just seems like it would be shooting fish in a barrel. There’s just so f**king much here.”
