The Eagles and Jackson Browne paid tribute to the late Glenn Frey at the Grammys yesterday evening. They performed a track that Browne and Frey wrote together ‘Take It Easy’.
Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey passed away last month (January 18th) at the age of 67. Following his death, Don Healey described Frey as being like a “brother” to him.
The 2016 Grammy Awards took place on Monday night (February 15th) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Other tributes on the night included Lady Gaga’s Bowie tribute and Hollywood Vampires tribute to Lemmy from Motorhead.
Eagles members Don Henley, Bernie Leadon, Joe Walsh and Tim Schmit united along with singer-songwriter Jackson Browne to perform ‘Take It Easy’ on the night.
The song was written by Glenn Frey and Jackson Browne in 1972 and would be the band’s first single. Browne would also go on to have a successful solo career in his own right.
Elsewhere on the night, American rock band Alabama Shakes won three awards at the Grammys for ‘Best Rock Song’, ‘Best Alternative Music Album’ & ‘Best Rock Performance’. Muse won the award for ‘Best Rock Album’ on the night.
