The former Smashing Pumpkins bassist has recently spoken about a possible reunion. D’arcy Wretzky recently spoke about how she has been asked in the past to rejoin the band.
In a new interview with Blast Echo, Wretzky has finally spoken about the band since she was fired from The Smashing Pumpkins 17 years ago. Speaking about The Pumpkins, she called former bandmate James Iha’s two appearances with the new version of The Pumpkins “really healthy.” She said that Iha is the only member she really keeps in contact with, as she talks to him “here and there.”
She said that she has been asked in the past to rejoin The Smashing Pumpkins, but also that she hasn’t seen the Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan since 1999. Wretzky also said that she would “consider going back.”
She said however, that she would only go back under certain conditions “Circumstances would have to be a certain way,” adding that “It’s much too complicated.”
She does clearly miss playing with the band as she said “Over the course of 12 years jamming with people who just clicked, you could just do it forever and ever and ever,” adding that “For me that doesn’t happen very often and I really miss that.”
