Guns ‘N’ Roses have hiked up security ahead of their Slane gig this weekend.  Following on from the recent events in Manchester, the Gardai and the band are taking every precaution not to see a repeat.

Guns ‘N’ Roses will be performing in Ireland for the first time in 25 years.

According to a statement by the Garda Siochana, there will over a thousand security stewards there as well as over 400 on duty Gardai.

“An Garda Siochana will have over 400 members on duty, including specialist units, who will be supported by an additional 1,200 security/stewards provided by licensed security companies together with a full complement of doctors and medical teams, including an on-site hospital along with five first aid posts.

Other artists, including Blondie, are postponing their overseas tours following the attack. The manager for Phil Collins, scheduled to play Liverpool’s Echo Arena on June 2 and then five dates at London’s Royal Albert Hall starting June 4, said those shows would go on.
