Here at Nova we have all the goss on Michael Bay’s latest offering to the Transformers franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight.
Our Man at the Movies, Clint Drieberg headed over to London last week, thanks to Paramount Pictures, ahead of the film’s release, to sit down with the stars.
Josh Duhamel reprises his Transformers role as Major William Lennox. He starred in the first three movies but we missed him in 2014’s Age of Extinction. Clint chatted with him about the film and got the full low down in the interview above.
*A little bit of trivia on Duhamel: he featured as an extra in Christina Aguilera’s ‘Genie in a Bottle’ music video in 1999 when he was first starting out. He has come a long way! Steven Spielberg (executive producer of 2007’s Transformers) handpicked him for the role of Major William Lennox after watching an episode of Las Vegas in which Duhamel’s character had just returned from the war in Iraq.
The new movie, Transformers: The Last Knight premiered at Odeon Leicester Square in London last weekend. It’s the fifth installment in the series. Both director Michael Bay and star Mark Wahlberg (check out what Marky Mark himself had to say about his experience filming here) have stated that it will also be the last. It’s been ten years since the Transformers journey began; the first movie of the franchise Transformers was released in 2007 if you can believe that!
Along with Josh Duhamel and Mark Walhberg, Transformers The Last Knight features Stanley Tucci returning from Age of Extinction, John Turturro also reprising his role from the first three films and Anthony Hopkins joining the cast. They’ve gone all out for the final movie with a reported budget of a whopping €217 million! Wowza!
