The new Netflix thriller Gypsy is out today. Creator, Lisa Rubin revealed that she was inspired to write the pilot episode of the show while listening to the classic Fleetwood track of the same name.
To celebrate the show’s release we decided to treat the NOVA listeners with a beautiful rendition of the track from StandBack The Stevie Nicks Experience.
Stand back were live in the studio this morning, have a listen to them above. AMAZING.
They are the only Stevie Nicks tribute act in Ireland a played a smashing show in the Sugar Club last month in a stripped back electro-acoustic setting.
Meanwhile the queen of Rock, Stevie, herself re-recorded the 1982 Fleetwood Mac’s hit, ‘Gypsy’ for the title sequence of the new Netflix show. Check it out here. Nicks is currently gearing up for this summer’s Classic East and Classic West festival in the states.
It will see Fleetwood Mac team up with fellow legendary 1970’s band, The Eagles. The mega-selling bands will perform in Citi Field in New York and Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles in July, organisers are hoping to make the festivals an annual event.
Both The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac have sold-out stadiums globally and with a vast catalog of music under there’s belts, Classic East and Classic West are set to be stellar affairs. They will be joined by Journey, the Doobie Brothers, Steely Dan and Earth, Wind & Fire.
