A free two-day BBQ and Whiskey Bonanza is back this weekend June 9th and 10th.
Bison BBQ Fest will be spread across Dublin’s original BBQ restaurant, Bison Bar & BBQ, and The Workman’s Club, and it’s set to be the perfect kick off to the summer, with a jam-packed schedule of seriously delicious BBQ action, Whiskey experiences, live music, games, competitions and more.
Hosting Bison BBQ Fest will be Adam Purnell a.k.a. Shropshire Lad, who has established himself as a leading ‘live fire’ chef in the UK since starting his You Tube channel and sharing this passion for BBQ over 5 years ago. The winner of Heston Blumenthal’s show ‘Crazy Delicious’ on Netflix, will be hosting a live cooking demonstration, sharing his unique BBQ cooking techniques and his ‘not mess about’ style.
There’ll be live music from acts like Dublin City Rounders and The Shadow Shakers over the weekend in Bison while some of Ireland’s finest up and coming DJ’s get the party started upstairs on the Workman’s terrace from early on. There is also a series of whiskey tasting masterclasses along with a live whiskey barrel charring demonstration and a series of mini comedy shows, as well as a pop-up tattoo artist Cailin Finnie, caricature drawings, a wheel of fortune with brilliant prizes, and so much more!
Bison Bar was the first original BBQ joint in Dublin since 2012. They literally brought the flavour from Southern America to the streets of Dublin with their Southern Pride Smoker, a smoker so big they had to take down the wall to get into the kitchen. They treat all their meat with homemade rubs and smoke them for 14 hours over specially selected charcoal before serving.
Bison BBQ Fest kicks off at 4pm on Friday and 12pm on Saturday. Attendance is totally free, and walk-ins are welcome across the weekend with Bison Bucks available for purchase.
