Aerosmith bassist Tom Hamilton sat out of the band’s high profile gig on October 20th at the Monsters Of Rock Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil after falling ill, according to Blabbermouth.net.
No cause was given for Hamilton’s absence other than being unwell.
Back in April, Hamilton was forced to drop out of the final dates of the band’s tour of Down Under due to illness. At the time it was reported that Hamilton was battling a chest infection and had returned to the U.S.
The Joe Perry Project‘s David Hull, who first stepped in for Hamilton during Aerosmith’s 2006 tour when Hamilton was fighting throat cancer, and subbed for him earlier this year, stood in for him during the Rio date.
Aerosmith next performs on October 27th in Mexico City, Mexico. There’s been no word as to whether Hamilton or Hull will be handling bass duties for the show.
