Alanis Morissette had been taking in shows as part of a belated 25th anniversary tour, celebrating her much loved album, ‘Jagged Little Pill’, which had been delayed due to the pandemic over recent years.
Earlier this year, Joan Jett concluded a 2 month tour, sharing a stage as a support act to Bryan Adams.
The ‘So Happy It Hurts’ tour saw Adams and Jett tour the US, finishing in August. More on this here.
Alanis Morissette & Foo Fighters Pay Tribute To Sinéad O’Connor
Back in July, Alanis Morissette also joined Foo Fighters on stage at their headlining performance at Japan’s Fuji Festival, for a live cover of ‘Madinka’, in tribute to the late Irish singer Sinéad O’Connor.
The track featured on O’Connor’s debut album ‘The Line And The Cobra’, which arrived in 1987. She passed away that same month aged 56.
“We’d like to make tonight very special for you because it’s nice to be back”, lead singer Dave Grohl told the audience before introducing Morissette to the stage.
Adding, “So tonight, we’re gonna do something that we’ve never done before, with someone that we love very much. We want an old friend to come up and sing with us tonight for a very special reason. Ladies and gentlemen, would you please welcome, to sing a song with us: miss Alanis Morissette”.
