US actor Alec Baldwin was spotted starring in the first trailer for new movie Rust, following the tragic death of cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, who was shot dead while on set in October 2021.

Last July, a New Mexico judge dismissed charges of involuntary manslaughter against Baldwin. These charges were dropped due to misconduct of the police and prosecutors over the withholding  of ammunition evidence from the defence.

In 2021, a prop gun from the set accidentally shot and killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, and injured director Joel Souza. Mr Souza survived. Alec Baldwin was in possession of the gun on the film set. Mr Baldwin had always insisted that he was unaware that the gun contained a live round, and that he pulled back the gun's hammer, not the trigger.

If convicted, Alec Baldwin could have faced up to 18 months in prison.

Rust Release New Trailer

Now, a new trailer for this movie has been uploaded, with an accompanying voiceover: "The only order that exists in this world is the order we impose".

In the movie, Alec Baldwin plays the notorious outlaw, Harland Rust, who busts his estranged grandson Luca McCalister (Patrick Scott McDermott) out of prison, after he accidentally killed a ranger, and was sentenced to hang. Rust takes the recently orphaned McCalister on the run towards Mexico.

The pair of them are evading the law, as well as bounty hunter 'Preacher' played by Travis Fimmel, and US Marshal Wood Helm, played by Josh Hopkins.

The trailer itself, which you can check out below, ends with Baldwin saying: "Heaven ain't waiting on neither one of us", before a dramatic shoot out ensues.

After the charges were dropped against him, Alec Baldwin issued a statement, where he thanked his fans for their support.

"There are too many people who have supported me to thank just now", the actor wrote at the time. "To all of you, you will never know how much I appreciate your kindness toward my family".
