A Garda investigation is underway after an attempted kidnapping allegedly took place in Tallaght.
A young mother, returning to her home on Wednesday, 21st October in the Donomore Green area of Tallaght, was stunned by two men who attempted to drag her two year old daughter away from her.
The young mum claims that the two men approached in a black-coloured Skoda and attacked. She says that she managed to fight them off and later kicked in her own door to escape them. The men ran off.
Both mother and child were unharmed. Gardaí have confirmed that an investigation has been opened into the alleged abduction attempt.
Child abduction is rare in Ireland. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be vigilant. Gardaí advise anyone who sees any suspicious activity in their area or near schools or other child-centred locations, to contact their nearest Garda station.
