Barry Keoghan has joined the cast for the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie.
The Saltburn and The Banshees Of Inisherin star joins a cast which sees Oscar winner Cillian Murphy reprise his role as gangster Thomas Shelby on the popular hit series.
The spinoff movie will also see creators Steven Knight and Tom Harper return behind the camera. They had previously created the original series, which debuted in 2013.
“Thomas Shelby wasn’t finished with me” – Cillian Murphy To Reprise Peaky Blinders Role
It had been announced that a Peaky Blinders film had been given the green light, and would go into production later that year.
This news was confirmed by BBC Films and Netflix, with casting details kept under wraps for the time being.
At the time, Cillian Murphy had this to say on reprising his role as the calculating gangster: “It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me . . . It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans”.
“Murphy is definitely returning for [the movie]”, Steven Knight had also previously said. “We’re shooting it in September just down the road in Digbeth”.
