Billy Corgan has opened up about his new podcast show, where he promises to "celebrate people in the culture who are misunderstood".
The Smashing Pumpkins lead singer launched this new venture, titled, The Magnificent Others, earlier this month, at Bill Maher Club Random Studios. The show will be available to stream via several platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and a YouTube channel of the same name. Check that out here.
On this show, Corgan will have in-depth chats with many household names including, Tom Morello, and Gene Simmons regarding their triumphs, challenges, as well as key moments which shaped their careers as musicians.
Speaking about his podcast, Billy Corgan revealed that he had previously stuck his toe in podcasting, but soon lost interest when most firms wanted him to only speak about his own past stories.
“When I was recruited by the Bill Maher world to do my own podcast, I was like, ‘Well, you’re probably not going to want to do what I want to do’ and they said, ‘Well, tell us’,” Corgan stated.
“I said I’d like to celebrate people in the culture that I feel either are misunderstood, overlooked or maybe don’t have the proper perspective from my position about what they’ve actually accomplished. And they said, ‘Great, we love it’".
The Magnificent Others will release an episode every Wednesday. More on this from Nova here.
