Dan Auerbach from The blues rock duo The Black Keys has released a new music video with his side project The Arcs. The song ‘Outta My Mind’ is the second track on the band’s new album Yours, Dreamily.
The album was released last week on Septmeber 4th and it sees Dan Auerbach team up with a number of prominent musical figures. Auerbach teamed up with Truth & Soul Records founder Leon Michels, Black Keys touring bassist Richard Swift and Menahan Street Band member Homer Steinweiss.
Other people involved in the project include Amy Winehouse collaborator Nick Movshon, guitarist Kenny Vaughan, plus the members of all-female mariachi band Mariachi Flor de Toloache.
Much like the new video Auberbach has described the new album as “extra weird”. The video is a real psychedelic trip as it shows the band performing the song behind a groovy backdrop.
Dan Auerbach also said the recording process was relatively short and it all came together quickly “It was cut really quick in a week and a half, two weeks of recording. I just wanted to do my thing and get extra weird… I wanted everything to flow and be cohesive.”
