After the success of their “All Hell Breaks Loose” album last year, guitarist Scott Graham said he wasn’t sure as to whether he wanted to repeat the experience of working with the albums producer Kevin Shirley, leading to speculation as to whether there would be a follow up.
However the band now report that they will be starting recording sessions in October and have described hiring Def Leppards Joe Elliot and the bands engineer Ronan Mc Hugh as like hiring family members.
Black Star Riders frontman Ricky Warwick who worked with the Def Leppard duo on his first two albums said
“Joe’s passion and enthusiasm for music is unquestionable, and Ronan is a phenomenal engineer, it was a no brainer, were confident this will be a huge leap in our evolution”.
Joe Elliot added,
“having worked with Scott on the Thin Lizzy remixes a few years ago , and having produced Ricky, I am looking forward to taking our journey together even further. I am proud to be able to contribute to the next chapter in BSR’s history”.
The untitled album is pencilled in for release in 2015 via Nuclear Blast.
The band will remain on tour throughout the spring and the summer and there will also be plans for a handful of Thin Lizzy shows in 2014 also.
The guitarist has said
“The response has been better than we had hoped. I haven’t had this much fun in years”.
