US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump have tested positive for coronavirus.
In the last few minutes Trump has tweeted:
"Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"
Both Trump and Melania entered quarantine earlier in the day after one of his senior aides Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus.
Since the pandemic Trump has been criticised for his response, including playing down the threat of the virus and for refusing to wear masks.
