Brian May has heaped the praise on bandmate Adam Lambert, saying that the singer "blows my mind" by taking old Queen classics to places he never expected.
The Queen guitarist made these comments in an interview with Sammy Hagar back in 2019.
The interview has only been shared to the public domain this week, shared via AXS TV's YouTube channel, with footage shot backstage honouring Nashville guitar icon James Burton.
Lambert has been performing with remaining Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor as part of Queen + Adam Lambert since 2011.
"Adam brings fresh views on things" - Brian May
Speaking in this interview, Brian May had this say.
"Adam brings fresh views on things," May stated. "He's not afraid to say, 'why don't we try it this way or that way?' so the songs are not fossils. They're alive and evolving with Adam, which is great, and sometimes he blows my mind".
Queen were of course famously fronted by legendary singer Freddie Mercury until his death in 1991.
In this interview, Brian May also spoke about working with Mercury in his final days. He also chatted about how himself and Roger Taylor curated the band's legacy following his death.
Last week, Brian May was spotted at the British Grand Prix, along with a host of celebrities including Rowan Atkinson, former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, cyclist Chris Hoy, runner Mo Farah, Saturdays’ singer Mollie King who was alongside her husband and cricketer Stuart Broad.
Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham also performed the national anthem. More on this here.
