British Comic Eddie Large Has Died After Contracting Coronavirus

The death of the British comedian Eddie Large has been confirmed. He was 78-years-old.

He was one half of the popular comedy duo Little And Large having enjoyed a lengthy partnership with fellow comic and brother in arm Syd Little. They began their careers in the early 1960's.

Large, who was christened Hugh McGinnis, was born in Glasgow but grew up in Manchester.

He formed double act Little and Large with Syd Little in 1963. They went on to win Opportunity Knocks and had a long-running comedy show on BBC One in the 1970s and 80s.

His son, Ryan McGinnis, posted on Facebook.. "It is with great sadness that Mum and I need to announce that my dad passed away in the early hours of this morning.

"He had been suffering with heart failure and unfortunately, whilst in hospital, contracted the coronavirus, which his heart was sadly not strong enough to fight."
