Bruce Springsteen has spoken about his involvement with his "fantastic" biopic, Deliver Me From Nowhere.
The film will see The Boss portrayed by Jeremy Allen White, as it explores the singer in the early 1980s, as well as the personal and professional circumstances which led him to releasing his 1982 album, 'Nebraska'.
Discussing how the project came about on the podcast, Variety's Awards Circuit, Bruce Springsteen also said that the set visits brought back some memories.
“They pitched the idea, and I said, ‘It sounds like fun,’” Springsteen said. “It’s an interesting concept, because it’s only a couple of years out of my life”.
He continued: “It’s ’81, ’82, and centred around the creation of that particular record while I was simultaneously recording ‘Born in the USA’ and also going through some personal difficulties that I’ve been living with my whole life. But it’s fantastic".
“I was on tour during a lot of it, so they filmed a good amount of it without me there. But I was on set sometimes”, he added. “It was interesting to see it played out, to see your grandmother’s house again, and to go inside and get a general feeling of what it was like when you were very young. So I enjoyed all those parts of it”.
A release date for Deliver Me From Nowhere has yet to be announced, but the film is expected hit cinema screens this year.
Last week, Bruce Springsteen also shared his previously unheard track, 'Blind Spot'. Check it out here.
