Bruce Springsteen performed at last night’s inauguration to celebrate the incoming party of President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. He gave a spirited performance of “Land of Hope and Dreams” at the Abraham Lincoln Memorial.

Bruce gave the rousing rendition when opening for the Celebrating America event, which was hosted by Tom Hanks. You can watch the Boss play the song solo on acoustic guitar below.

As well as Bruce Springsteen, the star-studded ceremony saw artists like Justin Timberlake, Ant Clemons, Foo Fighters, John Legend, and more, perform for the event. Lady Gaga gave a stirring rendition of the US national anthem, while Lopez gave a passionate performance of ‘This Land Is Your Land’ and ‘America The Beautiful’. The one and only Garth Brooks also performed, with a blast from the past performance form New Radicals and their hit, You Only Get What You Give. Katy Perry closed out the evening with her hit Firework.

Bruce has been a huge supporter of Biden and has been part of the campaign since the 2020 Democratic National Convention. The Boss appeared in campaign promos that were soundtracked by songs from The Rising, and also narrated one of Biden’s campaign ads, prior to Election Day. Springsteen previously performed an Inauguration Day event for Barack Obama and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama in 2016.

“I’m proud to be here in cold Washington D.C. tonight,” Bruce said ahead of his performance. “I wanna offer this small prayer for our country.”

After his performance at the inauguration, Bruce Springsteen has a busy 2021 planned. The Boss shared that he has "some big projects coming up this year". However, the star is keeping shtum about any information, "because it’s going to be a secret then a big surprise". Springsteen said he has things to keep him busy "that will give the fans something to bide their time with”.
