Elton John and Ed Sheeran have joined forces to release their festive charity track “Merry Christmas”.
Along with the duo, the music video also includes a cast of famous friends.
While celebrating the Christmas season, the song also acknowledges the “pain this year” and remembers “the ones who have gone”.
Along with being written by Elton John and Ed Sheeran, it was also produced by Steve Mac. Elton John had confirmed a festive hit was on the way featuring Sheeran back in October.
After Ed had already confirmed the Christmas duet between the pair. Elton John also had this to say.
Elton John told NME, “Yeah, he let the cat out of the bag didn’t he?”.
“I was sworn to secrecy and then big mouth f*****g Sheeran goes to the Netherlands! It’s supposed to come out – we haven’t finished it yet, so there’s still work to be done”, he added.
“I can’t say any more than that because it’s in his hands,” before discussing a potential battle for UK Number One with LadBaby, who has picked up the last three Christmas Number Ones with his novelty songs”.
