A new version of David Bowie's track 'Starman' has been released.
The single orginially featured on the late singer's fifth studio album ‘The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars’.
This year also marks the song and the album's fiftieth anniversary. Other tracks also include 'Ziggy Stardust', Suffragette City' and 'Five Years'.
Special 50th anniversary vinyl editions of the album were also released back today (June 17). The album itself was released on 16 June 1972.
The reissue will also be available on a picture disc. It will also feature the same master, and a replica promotional poster for the album.
The album has also been hailed as “the breakthrough album that catapulted David Bowie into the international spotlight”.
Press materials have also said that the album has “remained a touchstone record, growing in stature with each passing year”.
To mark this special half century, Parlophone Records released 'Starman Top Of The Pops Version, 2022 Mix'.
The new version of the track was produced by Ken Scott, from the BBC's original multi-tasks.
In order for a singer to appear on Top Of The Pops in 1972, the artist was required to re-record the track and sing live over the top.
This unreleased cover features the backing track and vocals from a one-off Bowie ad-lib 'Hey Brown Cow', which was recorded for the show.
Check out the latest version of the track below.
