Coldplay have set a new record for playing the largest stadium show of the 21st century.
This comes after Chris Martin and co performed two nights at India's Narenda Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, in front of more than 111,000 fans on each night.
These shows which also marked Coldplay's maiden performance in the country, surpassed the previous record, which was set by singer George Strait. Last June, the country music star played in front of 110,905 fans in Texas, which still remains the largest US stadium concert.
Other noteworthy names include Taylor Swift, who played in front of 96,000 fans at the Melbourne Cricket Club Ground in Australia last February, as part of her remarkable 'Eras Tour'.
According to reports submitted by Billboard Boxscore, Coldplay's ongoing Music of the Spheres tour, which includes these two Indian shows, has also sold more tickets than any other tour ever, standing at 10.3million in December.
This tour, has seen Coldplay perform 175 shows in Europe, with 87 shows selling as many as 5.2 million tickets.
This news comes after Coldplay had also released a new film, A Film For The Future, a new 45 minute visual accompaniment to their latest movie, 'Moon Music'.
This movie was a project which was put together by several artists who received an assortment of snippets from the LP. They had been asked to create such visuals that they thought aligned with the sound.
