Coldplay are in talks to headline Glastonbury 2024, according to reports.
According to the Bizarre Column in The Sun newspaper, Coldplay are reportedly in “advanced talks” to headline next year’s Worthy Farm event.
Having already announced dates for their European Tour next year, Coldplay are to release their new album ‘Moon Music’, “early next year”.
What is interesting about the band’s European Tour dates, is the noticeable gap that exists between their scheduled show at Lyon on June 23, and their next planned show at Rome’s Stadio Olympico on July 12.
With Glastonbury 2024 taking place between June 26-30th next year, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that Coldplay could headline the Worthy Park event.
On not playing at Glastonbury in 2022, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin said, “Glastonbury is our spiritual home, but even your parents say you need to leave home sometimes”.
The band had previously performed at the event in 2016, while a pre-recorded performance was aired at the Glastonbury Festival Presents Live at Worthy Farm 2021 broadcast, due to the pandemic.
Coldplay Confirm European Dates
As mentioned, Coldplay have confirmed a string of dates as part of the European leg of their tour.
This also includes two shows at Dublin’s Croke Park on 29 and 30th August next year. They will also perform in Athens, Rome, Vienna, Bucharest, Lyon, Dusseldorf, and Rome.
Tickets will also go on sale next Friday (28 July) at 10am. More on this here.
