Colin Farrell Wins Golden Globe For The Third Time

Colin Farrell was among the big winners at last night's Golden Globe Awards, thanks to his role in the DC Comics adaption The Penguin. 

The Irish actor landed the accolade for Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or a Motion Picture Made for Television at the Golden Globes in California. Farrell was nominated in a category which also included fellow Irish star Andrew Scott.

Farrell, had previously won the Golden Globe twice for his roles in The Banshees of Inisherin, and In Bruges. 

"I did it all by myself"

Speaking to the audience on the night, Colin Farrell joked that he had "no one to thank on this one - I did it all by myself!". 

He added: "You all know it takes a village".

Farrell also added that he even spent three hours in the make up chair every day to prepare himself for his role in The Penguin.

"In the morning, I drank black coffee, listened to 80s music, and I became a canvas for that team's brilliance", Farrell said.

The actor also hailed fellow nominee Andrew Scott, revealing that he did his first film with 25 years earlier, Drinking Crude, but it cannot be found anywhere!

"You can't even find it on Betamax," stated Farrell. "It doesn't exist. But we go back that far".

Popular series Shōgun and the film Emilia Perez were also among the big winners at the Golden Globes with four wins each, with Shōgun winning Best Television Series, with Anna Sawai, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Tadanobu Asano all winning acting awards.

Emilia Perez also won four awards, including Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, Best Motion Picture, Non English Language. While Zoe Saldana won Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture, with the track El Mal winning Best Original Song.
