A Dublin homelessness charity is calling on the Government to ensure nobody is sleeping rough during the current cold snap.
A status yellow low temperature and ice warning comes into effect for the whole country this evening.
The latest figures from the Dublin Regional Homeless Executive estimates there are 128 people sleeping outside in the capital.
Chair of the Tiglin Lighthouse Homeless Café, Aubrey McCarthy, says it's an emergency situation:
"There's a weather warning - it's minus 5 tonight and that's meant to go down to minus 10 on Monday/Tuesday. So you're dealing with serious weather issues, unfortunately for the people that we feed that's a life or death situation"
A nationwide status yellow low temperature and ice warning in place from this evening.
It'll come into effect from 6pm until 11am tomorrow, however the cold weather is expected to continue into the weekend.
An advisory has been issued for widespread frost and ice, with sleet and snow potentially on the cards for some areas on Saturday.
