Leo Varadkar confirmed on Saturday that he had provided a draft agreement between the Department of Health, the HSE, and the IMO to rival organisation the National Association of General Practitioners.

Dr Andrew Jordan and GP Maitiu O'Tuathail, who received the documents, say they got a finalised copy from the then-Taoiseach to 'keep all general practitioners informed'.

Opposition parties have criticised the Tánaiste’s decision to share the confidential GPs pay document with a rival GP organisation.

Sinn Fein’s Louise O’Reilly wants clarification on what happened.

Social Democrats co-leader Catherine Murphy says his explanation so far hasn't been good enough.

While Leo Varadkar admitted he shared a version of the Irish Medical Organisation's contract deal with a rival group, he says he didn’t break the law.

Justice Minister Helen McEntee is staunchly defending him; she insists Leo Varadkar didn’t gain personally and that anything he did was in the public interest.

The Tanaiste will face questions in the Dáil on the issue tomorrow.
