The filming of Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible 7 is set to resume at a new UK studio. Cruise is returning to the spy-thriller franchise for the seventh time as Ethan Hunt and serving as a producer again.
The film was originally being shot at Warner Brothers Studios, Leavesden, before a planned Christmas break. However, filming will now wrap up at the Longcross location in Surrey.
Following the festive break, Cruise has returned to the UK and will resume filming for the latest MI instalment under strict Covid-19 protocols, according to reports.
The news comes after Cruise ranted at his crew members, who he believed were not following coronavirus safety procedures properly. Cruise’s screaming rantings were recorded and leaked online.
It was reported earlier in the month that Cruise completely lost it with two crew members who were seen standing too close to each other in front of a computer monitor. In the recording, Cruis can be heard shouting: “If I see you do it again, you’re f*****g gone.”
“We are the gold standard,” Cruise can be heard saying in the audio file. “They’re back there in Hollywood making movies right now because of us. Because they believe in us and what we’re doing.
“I’m on the phone with every f*****g studio at night, insurance companies, producers and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you mother*****s. I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”
Following Cruise’s fowl-mouthed rant, five crew members have reportedly quit the filming of Mission: Impossible 7. However, fellow Hollywood star, George Clooney has responded to Cruise’s outburst, saying he understands why the actor-producer did it.
In an interview with Howard Stern, Clooney said: “You’re in a position of power. It’s tricky, you do have a responsibility for everyone and he’s absolutely right about that.”
“If the production goes down, a lot of people lose their jobs. People have to understand that and be responsible. It’s just not my style to take everybody to task that way.”
