The Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) is reportedly reconsidering its plans to build an observation deck for plane spotters.

The current site, known as “The Mound” is located at Collinstown Lane.

The proposed plan includes the construction of an elevated and sheltered viewing platform with seating and tables, as well as 22 parking spaces.

Fingal County Council has requested additional information on 18 different aspects.

These include, the need for a traffic survey of the adjacent road, a complete tree survey, and whether the DAA can provide toilet facilities.

The viewing point has been popular for the last 30 years.

The DAA is reportedly frustrated by what it perceives as excessive bureaucracy.
