Damon Albarn has suggested that a future Gorillaz collaboration with former Beatle Paul McCartney could happen.
Gorillaz are famed for their collaborations. From Bobby Womack, to De La Soul to Mark E.Smith and even Snoop Dogg, many artists have collaborated with the animated band. Speaking on the Dutch podcast, Kink, Albarn suggested that McCartney could appear on a Gorillaz song soon.
“I have a recording of Paul and myself that I could use for a Gorillaz track” he said. “It could easily fit on a Gorillaz album”.
He went on to add “It’s a very simple, basic recording but I would never release it without talking to him first.”
Despite having the recording, Albarn was reluctant to say he had a song with McCartney. He explained that in his eyes he doesn’t have “a track with Paul, because I don’t, but I could definitely work with him”. “He is one of the most special pop musicians ever”.
Last week, Gorillaz released their new music video for the their track ‘The Valley of the Pagans’. The video sees the band go on a joyride in Vinewood, the fictional version of Hollywood from the video game, Grand Theft Auto V. You can read more about it here and watch the video below.
