The Dead Weather have recently revealed the reason why they won't be touring in support of their new album. Dodge & Burn was released last Friday on September 25th.
The main reason for the band not going on tour is because of scheduling conflicts. Guitarist Dean Fertita also plays with Queens Of The Stone Age so he will be on tour with them, this is great news for QOTSA fans however.
Speaking to Billboard, Fertita revealed why The Dead Weather will not be touring "Schedules. The Kills are working on a record, Queens of the Stone Age are starting up again. City and Colour is starting up soon." also adding that "Jack’s just been going forever as well so he just needs a minute."
Fertita made it clear though that The Dead Weather love playing together "Obviously, it’s our favourite thing in the world to play together. Maybe some day, but immediate future, it’s not happening."
"You know how many records we could write in a couple years? I’m glad this music’s out there; it’s very hard to plan far ahead. There’s much going on and we’re all so busy." said Fertita.
Jack Lawrence Bassist for the Dead Weather also spoke about the new album in the same interview saying "This record has tons of mistakes on it. When you listen to music now it's perfect, because people are making it perfect."
