Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen has provided a recent update on his health, after being attacked outside a Florida hotel last month.
Last month, Allen stepped outside the Fort Laurderdale Hotel for a ciggarette when a 19 year old youth named Max Edward Hartley allegedly ran at Allen “knocking him backwards”.
According to the report, “as a result of (Hartley’s) actions, (Allen) hits his head on the ground causing injury”.
Mr Hartley was later arrested at a nearby car park, damaging cars, before being later charged with of criminal mischief, two counts of battery, along with abusing an elderly or disabled adult.
“The Will Be Rock”
A few days after his ordeal, Rick Allen firstly thanked the fans for their kindness and support.
“We are together now, and working on recovering in a safe space,” he wrote.
He also added, “We are focusing on healing for everyone involved. We ask you to join us in our effort to move from confusion and shock to compassion and empathy”.
“We understand this act of violence can be triggering for so many people,” he continued, adding that he and his wife were thinking of the “fans, veterans, and first responders in our global community”.
Since then, Rick Allen has now shared an update regarding his recovery via Instagram.
“Thank you all so very much for all of your love and support over the last month. I am still recovering and getting my mind and body ready for the upcoming Def Leppard tour”, Allen wrote. “Just wanted to say hi and let you know, There Will Be Rock!”.

Rick Allen also signalled his intention to press charges against Mr Hartley.
Despite this setback, the 59 year old is set to emark on this mammoth world tour with Def Leppard alongside Motley Crue, which begins on May 22.
Elsewhere, Allen’s bandmate Joe Elliot also had a chat with our very own Dee Woods last month. Find out what he said here.
