Incoming US President Donald Trump has appointed actors Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight as special envoys to Hollywood, it has been confirmed.
The trio will serve as ambassadors to help make Hollywood, "bigger, better and stronger", with Mr Trump stating that these three actors were appointed as "special envoys" to Hollywood, which he also described as a "great but very troubled place".
Donald Trump is to be sworn in as the next US President next Monday, having been elected to the White house following victory over Democrat candidate Kamala Harris last November. Mr Trump will succeed outgoing President Joe Biden.
Posting a statement on his Truth Social, Donald Trump said the following.
"They will serve as Special Envoys to me for the purpose of bringing Hollywood, which has lost much business over the last four years to Foreign Countries, BACK-BIGGER, BETTER, AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!", he said.
He said that these actors "will be my eyes and ears, and I will get done what they suggest".
"It will again be, like The United States of America itself, The Golden Age of Hollywood!", he added.
Reacting to this, Mel Gibson said that he was told the news "at the same time as all of you and was just as surprised" but "nevertheless, I heed the call".
"My duty as a citizen is to give any help and insight I can", he added.
Mel Gibson who lost his home in LA due to the ongoing wildfires, also joked: "My duty as a citizen is to give any help and insight I can".
Representatives for Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight, have yet to comment on the matter.
