A state visit to Dublin by Donald Trump could be on the cards.
The Irish Independent reports a visit ‘makes sense’ for the US president in order to firm up his support among Irish-Americans.
However, there has been no contact from the White House as of yet.
Government sources here say a visit would be unlikely to involve a major public event due to inevitable protests.
