Kellie Harrington was met with a raucous cheer from the Electric Picnic crowd, as she joined The Wolfe Tones on the Main Stage in Stradbally over the weekend.

The Dublin boxer was met with a chorus of ‘Ole, Ole’ Ole’, as she joined the trio on stage.

Following her victory in Paris, Harrington had led the crowd into a rendition of ‘Grace’.
Harrington’s association with The Wolfe Tones goes back a while, having been invited to perform with the band by frontman Brian Warfield during their shows at the 3Arena last October.
However on this occasion, Harrington left this singing up to the professionals. See more on this here.
Along with the Wolfe Tones, Kylie Minogue, Raye, Tom Grennan, The Stranglers and others performed on the Main Stage on Sunday.

“That’s the last hurrah” – Harrington

Following her victory in Paris, Kellie Harrington also confirmed that she would be retiring from the sport.

“That’s the last hurrah, I’m done”, she stated. “I’ve always said I want to retire a champion. That’s it. Let me just say it once again, Bob’s your uncle, Fanny’s your aunt, good night Irene’”.

Ahead of the fight, Kellie also revealed that the plan was “just be happy – happy, smile and enjoy it”.

She also added: “It just gives hope. All these young kids all these teenagers, it give hope to them, it gives hope to the people of Ireland, that’s what it means. But this one was for me”.

Harrington’s victory in Paris also saw her become the second Irish female athlete to achieve the feat of winning gold at back to back Olympic games, having won gold in Tokyo back in 2021.

Kellie Harrington was one of four Irish Olympians to win gold at this year’s games, including Rhys McCleneghan, Daniel Wiffen, as well as rowers Paul O’Donovan and Fintan McCarthy.
