Dublin claimed their first ever Ladies National Football League Division 1 title in Parnell Park on Saturday afternoon.
The victory puts an end to Cork’s five-year reign as holders of the title.
Goals from Sinead Aherne, Laura McGinley and Noelle Healy helped the Dubs on their way to a comfortable 3-15 to 1-10 win over Mayo.
It was a replay of last years TG4 All-Ireland senior decider which Dublin won by 12 points.
A dominant Dublin performance from start to finish meant that Mayo hearts were broken once again in a national showpiece.
Captain Sinead Aherne in particular put in a great shift and finished up with a personal tally of 1-9.
With 10 minutes on the clock, the St Sylvester’s sharpshooter had 1-3 to her name before the Mayo had even opened their account.
Sarah Rowe did hit the back of the net for the Westerners from a penalty as the clock approached half time.
This wasn’t nearly enough though as Dublin saw the game out accordingly, their dominance shining through right until the death.
