A Dublin Northwest TD's expressing concern over the safety risk posed by the taxi shortage in Dublin city centre.
Paul McAuliffe says the lack of taxis is leaving hundreds of people in the lurch as they try and get home at night, particularly at weekends.
He says it's vital it's tackled as it's led to concerns over the safety of women, students and night-time workers who struggle to get home.
Deputy McAuliffe says many Garth Brooks fans who were in the city this weekend would have had the same problem:
"Many of them would have struggled to get taxis. One of the reasons for this is the increase in the cost of fuel."
