Duran Duran are to reunite with former guitarist Andy Taylor, according to reports.

Taylor who was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic cancer back in 2019, played with the band on and off between 1980 and 2001.

Taylor's ongoing cancer treatment suffered a setback, forcing him to miss Duran Duran's Hall of Fame Induction last year.

"no different"

At the ceremony, the band read out a letter from Taylor, regarding his illness.

“Just over four years ago I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer”, Taylor wrote.

“Many families have experienced the slow burn of this disease and of course we are no different; so I speak from the perspective of a family man but with profound humility to the band, the greatest fans a group could have and this exceptional accolade”.

“I have the ‘Rodgers and Edwards’ of doctors and medical treatment that until very recently allowed me to just rock on”.

“Although my current condition is not immediately life-threatening there is no cure”.

Reflecting on this in a recent interview, Duran Duran bassist Jon Taylor was understandably heartbroken.

“When he dropped the bomb two days before the Hall of Fame, it was really shocking and terribly sad", he said.

"meaningful to us when we were kids"

However on a more positive note, John Taylor has revealed that Andy will feature on the band's next album.

“We’re working on an album right now that is going to be coming out at the end of the year and he’s playing guitar", he revealed.

“There’s a lot of cover songs on the album, songs meaningful to us when we were kids. So having him be a part of that project is great".

“LeBon is flying to Ibiza to work with Andy. I kind of wish I was there. I think it’ll be great. It’ll be really profound for them. They haven’t been in the studio together in maybe 10 to 20 years".

Duran Duran also announced plans to perform at Dublin's 3Arena next May as part of a UK and Ireland Tour. More on this from Nova here.
