At their recent concerts in LA, the Eagles introduced a special guest onto the stage.
Performing at the Kia Forum venue on Friday and Saturday night last, Souther joined the band on stage.
JD Souther’s connection with the Eagles can be traced as far back as the 1960s, when he met and befriended Glen Frey in LA.
The pair became close friends and room mates for a time, releasing a joint album ‘Longbranch Pennywhistle’, as well as performing live together on occasion.
The songwriter has been a long time collaborator of the Eagles, having co-written ‘New Kid In Town’, ‘Heartache Tonight’, and ‘Best Of My Life’.
Along with continuing his career as a solo artist, JD Souther also wrote tracks for Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, and Christopher Gross.
The Eagles Extend ‘Long Goodbye’ Tour
Last November, the Eagles also added an extra seven dates to their ‘Long Goodbye’ Tour, meaning that their final show of this tour will take place in Charlotte NC in March.
However, it is expected that they will continue with this tour into 2025.
The current line up consists of Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Timothy B Schmidt, Deacon Frey, and Vince Gill. More on this from Nova here.
