Elbow have reached number in the UK with their album ‘Audio Vertigo’.
This marks the band’s fourth UK Number one overall, following on from 2019’s Giants Of All Sizes, Little Fictions in 2017, and 2014’s The Take Off And Landing Of Everything.
The ‘One Day Like This’ hitmakers achieved this feat last Friday, finishing ahead of Future and Metro Boomin’s first collaborative album We Don’t Trust You.
Elbow For Trinity Summer Series
News of this comes weeks after the band announced an outdoor headline show at Trinity College’s Summer Series in July.
Elbow will perform at the series alongside Gavin James, Jane’s Addiction, and Paul Weller. The band will take to the stage for this show on July 1.
This show will also support the aforementioned ‘Audio Vertigo’ which has also been described by lead singer Guy Garvey as being built from “gnarly, seedy grooves created by us playing together in garagey rooms”.
It was also described as a stark contrast to the band’s 2021 album Flying Dream 1.
The album which had arrived in March, was recorded at the band’s individual studios and Migration Studios, Gloucestershire last year. It was then finalised at Elbow’s Blueprint Studios.
A huge thank you to everyone who bought / streamed / downloaded ‘AUDIO VERTIGO’, which has entered the charts today at Number 1. This is now elbow’s 4th studio album to top the charts in the UK. pic.twitter.com/Ja2jiWFmlU

During the lockdown of 2020, Elbow still managed to keep their fans entertained. Each week, they recorded a track which was chosen by the fans, from each member’s studio, before uploading it every Friday.
