Elton John has joined forces with singer Brandi Carlile, to release a new song called, Swing For The Fences.
The pair have a lot in common, with Elton married to husband David Furnish, sharing two sons, Zachary and Elijah, while Carlile is married to Catherine Shepherd, with whom she shares two daughters Evangeline Ruth and Elijah.
In a recent interview, the music legend paid homage to Carlile, claiming that their connection is nothing short of fate, as well as describing the Grammy winning musician as his "soulmate". The singer had previously contributed to Carlile's 2009 album, Give Up The Ghost.
"Well, I've been a fan of Brandi's for a long time, but she had been a fan of mine for even longer, and I played and sang on one of her records,", said John, referring to that 2009 contribution.
Elton John explained how the pair bonded when they met in person.
"When she came to the studio, I actually fell in love with her, and we've been soulmates ever since", he said.
Swing For The Fences will feature on Elton John and Brandi Carlile's collaborative studio album, 'Who Believes In Angels?', which arrives on 4 April.
Alongside Carlile, Elton John has also praised Irish band Kneecap for being "political" with their music. More on this from Nova here.
