Elton John’s new documentary will air at the Toronto Film Festival later this year.
The documentary Elton John: Never Too Late, will air at the festival in September. It follows the music icon through his last tour, Farewell Yellow Brick Road.
Elton John: Never Too Late promises to “pull back the curtain” on the singer’s life, featuring “never-before-seen concert footage of him over the past 50 years, as well as hand-written journals and present-day footage of him and his family”.
Co directed by RJ Cutler and Elton’s husband David Furnish, the documentary will also focus on his final shows in the US, “his November performance at Dodger Stadium in his final North American show”.
Cutler and Furnish had previously co directed Disney+ documentary Goodbye Yellow Brick Road: The Final Elton John Performances and the Years That Made His Legend. More on this here.
Back in January, it was also confirmed that John’s tour broke all kinds earning records. Find out more here.
Elton John To Release New Album
Last month, Elton John had reportedly announced plans to release a “surprise” new album.
Despite retiring from touring to spend more time with his family, the singer still maintains a desire to release new music.
“It’s all been very top secret but Elton is back in the studio working on a new album”, a source told The Sun Newspaper. “He adores music and that will never change but the desire to be as busy as he was has waned”.
