For all those die-hard fans of the ‘King’, you might want to break open your piggy banks for an upcoming auction.
Two of Elvis Presley’s private planes are up for sale in the next month, the ‘Lisa Marie’ and the ‘Hound Dog ll’.
2014 was an interesting year for music auctions, John Lennon’s ‘Paperback Writer’ guitar, The Who’s drum set and sheets of Bob Dylan’s song lyrics were all available to buy.
The Beverly Hills auction house Julien’s Auctions, are responsible for selling the items. Both planes have been displayed at Graceland over the last 30 years.
Now the planes current owners want to get rid of them before April 2015, and it looks like a few mega fans of the King will try their best to get their hands on the items.
Rolling Stone reports that the interiors are in pristine condition, having been covered in plastic for the past few years. However, there is a catch, the planes are for display only, meaning that if you’re an aspiring pilot, you’ll have to find another aircraft to practice flying in.
Also up for auction is a suede vest worn by Janis Joplin, as well as a signed book, coin belt and ticket stubs.
