Due to such high demand, an extra date has been added to a special event with author Roddy Doyle and Irish football icon Roy Keane.

An Evening with Roy Keane in conversation with Roddy Doyle, is to take place taking place on 7 July next year Live at the Marquee.

Now, an additional date has been added for July 8, with tickets going on sale on Friday November 8 at 9am via Ticketmaster.

Roddy Doyle had co-written Roy Keane's second autobiography, The Second Half, and the pair have remained friends.

Roy Keane's first autobiography was co-written by Irish journalist Eamon Dunphy. However, the pair soon fell out following its release.

The fallout reportedly happened over how Dunphy described Keane's infamous tackle on Manchester City's Alf-Inge Haaland, which led to the Norwegian suffering a serious injury. These claims have always been disputed by Dunphy.

Roy Keane, Mick McCarthy and Saipan

News of this special Roy Keane event also comes after the first-look photo from the upcoming film, Saipan, was released.

The film will look at the events leading up to the Republic of Ireland's infamous World Cup campaign from 2002, which saw Roy Keane sent home, following a bitter row with then manager Mick McCarthy.

Two time Academy nominee Steve Coogan will play McCarthy, with Éanna Hardwick playing the role of Keane.

Producer Trevor Birney has already praised the two actors.

“Ultimately it’s a universal story about two men who wanted the same thing but just really couldn’t agree on how to go about it”, he said.

Birney also called Hardwicke playing the role of Keane is “stunning”, while revealing that Coogan as Mick McCarthy would be “mind-blowing”.

The supporting cast also includes Peter McDonald, Alex Murphy, Alice Lowe, Jamie Beamish and Harriett Cairns. It will also be directed by filmmakers Lisa Barros D'Sa, and Glenn Leyburn.

It will also be produced by Macadara Kelleher, and John Keville for Wild Atlantic Pictures, along with Oliver Butler and Trevor Birney, while Patrick O’Neill and Rachael O’Kane will serve as executive producers.
