River searches have been taking place in Austria for missing Irishman, 21-year-old student, Ross Hanlon, from Athboy in County Meath.

The DKIT student was last seen on Friday at around 2am in Vienna.

Katharina Weinmann, who is covering the search for Austrian TV Station O.R.F., says there is no information as to where or how Mr. Hanlon disappeared.

His heartbroken family have issued a fresh appeal on his whereabouts, telling the Irish Independent they will do 'anything and everything' to get him back.

Ross was in the Austrian capital for a city break following the completion of college winter exams when he became separated from his two friends during a night out.

Today, his family met with the Irish Ambassador to Austria and have spent the day putting up missing posters around the city.
