An iconic guitar which was used by John Lennon is going up for auction, having been found in a loft.
Beatles legend Lennon famously used this guitar in the recording of the Fab Four's 1965 album and film Help!, which has not been seen or played for over half a century, until it was later rediscovered by a British couple.
This 12 string acoustic guitar was used by Lennon and co for the movie's scene which saw them perform 'You've Got To Hide Your Love Away'.
The Hootnanny model, which was also made by German company Framus, was also used by the Beatles while recording I've Just Seen A Face and Girl, and It's Only Love, and the rhythm track for Norwegian Wood played by George Harrison.
Now, this famous John Lennon guitar is expected to sell for between £485,000 and £647,000 at this auction, with the instrument to set a "new world record for the highest-selling Beatles guitar".
Speaking about this guitar, Darren Julien, co-founder and executive director of the auction house, Julien's Auctions said, "Finding this remarkable instrument is like finding a lost Rembrandt or Picasso, and it still looks and plays like a dream after having been preserved in an attic for more than 50 years".
He also added, "To awaken this sleeping beauty is a sacred honour and is a great moment for music, Julien's, Beatles and auction history".
