Thanks to a US-based charity, music fans have the chance to enjoy a dinner date with Metallica’s James Hetfield.
This was developed a non-profit organisation called Adaptive Sports Foundation. They work to make athletics more accessible for people with physical and cognitive disabilities and chronic illness.
This dinner will take place in Edwards, Colorado, close to Hetfield’s home in Vail. It also must be arranged within three months of the end of the auction.
The lucky winner of this rendezvous with James Hetfield will be able to invite up to three additional guests on the night.
Dinner With James Hetfield
However, there is one catch. The winner of this auction will have to foot the bill for the entire night.
This package also does not include travel and accommodation, and it is expected to finish up in two hours.
The winner will still be allowed to take a photo with Hetfield, and can bring something with them to be signed by the Metallica frontman.
Taking place next Wednesday (August 21), the auction’s current bid stands at $28,500 at the time of writing. This also comes from just 21 bids, with the next minimum bid standing at $31,000. You can find out more about this opportunity via this link here.
Back in May, James Hefield said that he was inspired to write new music by Elton John.
“The time off has been pretty fantastic but, at the same time, I missed playing with the guys. And I let them know, ‘Man, I miss jamming with you guys!”, he revealed. “We’ve done a few things here and there”.
Paying homage to Elton John, he added: “The Elton John thing [covering Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding on TV in April] was so fantastic. Had a blast there. Elton, what a beautiful soul”.
