As we mentioned yesterday, the trailer for the upcoming Bob Dylan biopic starring Timothée Chalamet has been released.

No official release date has been confirmed for this biopic, titled A Complete Unknown, but it is expected to hit the US screens in December, and the UK in the new year.

The biopic itself will see Timothée Chalamet starring as Bob Dylan, with Elle Fanning starring as his girlfriend Sylvie Russo.

It will also see Edward Norton play folk music legend Pete Seegar, with Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez.

The trailer also shows Chalamet’s Bob Dylan on stage, walking through the streets of New York, riding his motorbike, surrounded by fans, and singing the classic track ‘A Hard Rain’s Gonna Fail’.

“I am so here for this”

Following its release, fans have been reacting to the trailer, with some implying that A Complete Journey may be prominent at next year’s Oscar’s ceremony.

“This movie will drop in December. I hope it’ll be recognized for the Oscars. This movie right here from what we have seen is amazing. I am so here for this!”, one fan said.

However, some fans were quite critical of Chalamet’s portrayal of Dylan from the trailer.

“I am never going to see this as anything but Timothee Chalamet doing Bob Dylan cosplay”, one added.

Despite this, others insisted that Chalamet’s singing was “perfect” and “spot on”.

Another added: “Sometimes I will watch an actor playing a famous person and think that they transcended the part, actually became that person for the film, like Elvis. All I see here is Timothee Chalamet acting, if that makes sense”.

A synopsis for this Bob Dylan biopic said this:  “Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 60s, A Complete Unknown follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s (Timothée Chalamet) meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts – his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation – culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965″.

A Complete Unknown will also be directed by James Mangold.
