From tomorrow Friday, 1st September 2017 you can download the STAR WARS APP! Then simply launch the 'Find The Force' app and… Look up! All you need to do is point your phone at the sky above Dublin's Ha'Penny Bridge for an out-of-this-world SURPRISE! The global countdown has begun for Force Friday II!

'Find The Force' was announced today by Lucasfilm and Disney following the global phenomenon of 2015's Force Friday. 'Find The Force' is a global augmented reality (AR) event which will be rolled out on September 1st (Force Friday II). The event is to commemorate the global launch of new Star Wars: The Last Jedi products.

So 'what is it?' you ask. Well, from September 1st-3rd, retailers across the globe will invite fans to Find the Force by taking part in an AR treasure hunt. Here’s how you can take part: first, download the Star Wars App, which is your one-stop-shop for all things Star Wars. Then simply visit a Disney Store, GameStop, Arnotts, Easons, Smyths across Ireland. Check it out below!

'The pop-up AR treasure hunt aims to unite fans around the world in the battle against the dark side in a unique three-day event at over 20,000 retail locations across 30 countries.' Fans will have the opportunity to activate their own unique augmented reality experience featuring Star Wars characters - including new surprise additions from the film along with original fan favourites.

President of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy said the following about the event: “Force Friday II is a major milestone in the countdown to Star Wars: The Last JediStar Wars has always championed new technology, and we are excited that augmented reality will allow fans to experience the universe in a whole new way.”

Be careful when using the app. Always watch your surroundings and remain aware of hazards, including other pedestrians, traffic, and obstacles. Do not use the app when driving a car.
