The first images of Andrew Scott from the upcoming thriller series Ripley, have been released.
Released by Netflix where the series will launch next year, Ripley will see Golden Globe nominee Scott star as main character Tom Ripley, who is hired by a wealthy industrialist to travel from New York to Italy, in order to convince the man's dilettante son Dickie Greenleaf to come home.
Set in Italy from the 1960s, Ripley promises a "suspense-filled journey", as we explore a world of deceit, fraud and murder.
Based on Patricia Highsmith's best selling Tom Ripley novels, the series is also inspired by the 1999 movie The Talented Mr Ripley, which starred Matt Damon.
Photographs released by streaming giants Netflix, show Andrew Scott in a series of black and white images, in lavish settings around Italy.
The series will run for eight episodes, and will also see Dakota Fanning star alongside Scott, as Dickie's girlfriend, Marge Sherwood, who is suspicious of Tom Ripley's motives.

As mentioned, 2024 looks set to be a busy year for Scott, having already received a Golden Globe nomination for his role in All Of Us Strangers.
Scott has been nominated in the same Best Actor category as Cillian Murphy for his role in Oppenheimer, as well as Saltburn star Barry Keoghan.
Other actors nominated also include Leonardo Di Caprio (Killers Of The Flower Moon), Colmon Domingo (Rustin), and Bradley Cooper (Maestro). More on that here.
All Of Us Strangers also sees Andrew Scott star alongside Maynooth native Paul Mescal, who has been backed by his co star to make a "great" James Bond, following rumours that the Normal People actor could succeed Daniel Craig as the next 007.
“He’d probably be a great James Bond”, Scott said at a recent screening for All Of Us Strangers. “I want to see him in Gladiator first”.
